About the Opportunity

Sagefort Law PLLC is seeking a capable, highly organized part-time paralegal to become a member of the team.

This is not intended to be a narrowly administrative position. The paralegal will work directly with the firm's founder and managing attorney and will have meaningful involvement in the organization and progression of client matters.

The firm's practice serves businesses, founders, investors, and individuals across a range of matters, including corporate and commercial work, startup and emerging-company matters, business and employment-based immigration, U.S. market entry, contracts, real estate matters, and civil and commercial disputes.

The position has the potential to develop into a full-time role as the firm's workload expands.

Our practice is built around careful legal work, sound judgment, responsiveness, and long-term client relationships rather than volume, and is looking for someone who wants to contribute to that kind of professional environment.

What You Will Do

Working directly with the managing attorney, the paralegal will assist with both substantive legal-support work and the day-to-day organization of matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing legal documents and correspondence
  • Assisting with corporate, commercial, immigration, real estate, and dispute-related matters
  • Conducting legal and factual research
  • Organizing client and matter files and maintaining accurate electronic records
  • Reviewing documents and submissions for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Assisting with court, government agency, and other institutional filings
  • Tracking deadlines, calendars, filing dates, and matter-related tasks
  • Communicating professionally with clients to obtain information and supporting documentation
  • Providing appropriate procedural and matter-status updates under attorney supervision
  • Coordinating meetings, signatures, documents, and other matter logistics
  • Maintaining information in the firm's practice-management and document-management systems

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong written and verbal English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Professional judgment when handling confidential information and client communications
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently after receiving direction while knowing when to ask questions
  • Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week on-site in New York City
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a law firm, legal department, court, government agency, or similar professional setting
  • Paralegal certificate, bachelor's degree, or relevant legal education
  • Experience with legal research, document preparation, court or agency filings, or matter management
  • Familiarity with practice-management software such as Clio
  • Interest or experience in corporate/business law, immigration, transactions, real estate, or dispute-related work
  • Professional proficiency in Georgian is strongly preferred
  • Russian language proficiency is preferred
